Frequently asked questions.
Do you accept insurance?
At this time, we do not bill insurance directly. All services are private pay, however, we can provide a superbill.
What is a superbill?
A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes the information insurance companies need (such as service codes, dates, and clinician credentials). Families can submit a superbill to their insurance provider to request reimbursement.
Will my insurance reimburse me?
Reimbursement varies depending on your insurance plan. Some families receive partial reimbursement, while others may not. We recommend calling your insurance provider and asking about out-of-network speech therapy coverage. We provide detailed superbills and can guide you on the next steps for submitting them. While we cannot guarantee reimbursement, we’ll make sure you have everything you need to file with your insurance company.
What form of payments do you accept?
Cash, check or credit cards.
Why Might My Child Need Services?
Language Evaluation
A language evaluation may be helpful if your child isn’t talking as much as other children their age, has trouble following directions or answering questions, or uses sentences that are short, unclear, or hard to understand. Parents also sometimes choose a language evaluation if they’re simply unsure whether their child’s language skills are on track.
Speech Evaluation
Children may benefit from speech therapy if they are having difficulty being understood or expressing themselves clearly. Every child develops at their own pace — but when communication challenges start to impact daily life, learning, or social relationships, speech therapy can help.
AAC Evaluation
An AAC evaluation may be the right next step if your child uses very few words or isn’t talking yet, becomes frustrated when others don’t understand them, or mostly communicates with gestures, pointing, or sounds. It can also be helpful if you’d like to explore whether a communication device could support your child, or if your child has tried speech therapy but still needs more ways to express themselves.
What is an AAC Evaluation?
An AAC (Augmentative & Alternative Communication) evaluation is for individuals who may benefit from additional communication tools—such as a speech-generating device, picture-based system, or communication app.
During the evaluation, we will:
• Learn about current communication skills and needs
• Explore a variety of AAC tools and access methods
• Trial devices to see what feels functional and motivating
• Determine the best-fit system for communication success
• Guide you through insurance, paperwork, and vendor coordination
The goal is to ensure your child has a communication system that supports them right now, while also allowing room to grow.
What is an speech evaluation?
A speech sound evaluation helps us understand how clearly your child is able to produce speech. We look at both the sounds they can already say and the sounds that are still developing — as well as how those patterns affect how easily others can understand them in daily conversations.
A speech sound evaluation may look at:
• Articulation (specific sounds like “r,” “s,” “th”)
• Phonological patterns (like sound substitutions or omissions)
• Motor planning and coordination of speech movements
• Overall speech clarity and intelligibility
You’ll receive a clear explanation of your child’s speech strengths, areas to target, and a personalized therapy plan to support more confident and understandable communication.
What’s in a language evaluation?
A language evaluation helps us understand how your child communicates across everyday routines — including both how they express themselves and how they understand language.
We assess areas such as:
• Vocabulary development
• Sentence structure and grammar
• Following directions and comprehension
• Play, social communication, and interaction skills
• Functional communication at home, school, and in the community
You’ll receive a clear picture of your child’s strengths, needs, and recommended next steps — along with a personalized plan to support language growth.
Where are the services provided?
At your home, or at an agreed upon location.
Do I need a referral from a doctor?
Yes and no. If you are strictly doing private pay with no superbill then no. However, if at some point you decide to submit a superbill, then a referral from a physician would be required. We can help with this process.
